Rail Crane Pulley Installation on MV SITC SURABAYA

MV SITC SURABAYA is a large container ship that transports goods to and from different ports. During a recent loading operation at Lach Huyen Port, the rail crane pulley was damaged due to a container hitting it. The hanging support was also bent and broken, and the flatform used for operations was damaged as well. To fix the problem, the ship needed a rail crane pulley installation.

The process of installing a new rail crane pulley on MV SITC SURABAYA was not an easy task. The new pulley needed to be installed at a height of approximately 10m above the main deck, which required careful planning and execution. Next, scaffolding was erected, and an electric hoist was used to lift the new pulley, which weighed approximately 150kg, into position. The team also checked the dimensions of the new pulley to ensure that it was compatible with the crane beam. The new pulley was then welded into place, and the area was cleaned.

In addition to the rail crane pulley installation, the hanging support was repaired by cutting and welding two bars together. A steel plate was used to connect the bars to the crane beam. This temporary fix allowed the ship to continue its operations until the support could be replaced permanently.
