Marine Service Ship Repair in SonDuong Port
Formosa Group is investing in the development of Son Duong deep-water port with a total capital of one billion USD. The port will feature 32 specialized wharves, including six berths for ships between 20,000 and 30,000 DWT, 20 berths for ships between 30,000 and 50,000 DWT, and six berths for ships between 6,000 and 10,000 DWT, with a total length of 6,600m. The port will have a throughput capacity of around 85 million tons per year, making it the largest specialized port in the region with modern loading and unloading equipment.
Currently, Formosa is completing 11 berths (phase 1), including two berths for ships of 20,000 DWT and nine berths for ships between 10,000 and 50,000 DWT. The estimated volume of cargo throughput is 28 million tons per year. Additionally, the Vietnam Maritime Administration has temporarily allowed five wharves to operate for the project, enabling ships of 1-5,000 DWT to enter and unload cargo.
