Troubleshooting of HFO Purifier in Cai Lan Port
The purifier is an essential piece of machinery on a ship, with its troubleshooting and operating performance being monitored through various parameters, including oil temperature, back pressure, bowl speed, oil density, and throughput. For optimal purification, the feed inlet oil temperature should be within a range of 98-100°C for HFO and 80-85°C for L.O. Increasing the oil temperature can lower its viscosity, which is recommended for better purification results. The oil density should also be suitable for the purifier, as recommended by the manufacturer, with lower density resulting in better separation due to the increased density difference. The bowl’s RPM should be as high as possible to generate a higher centrifugal force, which is responsible for separating impurities in the centrifuge or purifier. For instance, in an Alfa Laval purifier, the RPM is around 9000.

Overhauling
The old cap nut uneven grinding the old gravity disc is improperly installed.and has been replaced with a more suitable type.
